Chivas Regal 16 Year Old – Charles Leclerc Limited Edition is a blended Scotch whisky from Scotland. This limited edition was developed in collaboration with Charles Leclerc, Global Brand Ambassador for Chivas Regal and Formula 1 driver. The number 16 plays a central role in this release. It not only refers to Leclerc’s racing number, but also to the composition of the blend. This whisky is made from 16 carefully selected whiskies, each aged for at least 16 years. The blend combines both malt and grain whiskies from different Scottish distilleries. An important component is Longmorn malt whisky, a style personally preferred by Charles Leclerc. The whisky is matured in oak casks, which contribute notes of wood, spice and ripe fruit. This release is the first official 16-year-old expression from Chivas Regal and was specially created for this collaboration with Charles Leclerc.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: The cocoa powder and black treacle from the nose are again present but with a little more dominance.

Taste: this whisky is creamy and buttery in texture. It possesses an elegant richness which is again dominated by dried fruits early on. There are plenty of chocolate coated raisin, plump sugary sultana and candied orange on show, supported by darker notes of dried fig and date, plus prune.

Finish:  long and becomes increasingly dry and spicy. The dried fruit and sweet caramel elements hold nicely before beginning to fade.
