Château Musar is the legendary Lebanese winery founded by Gaston Hochar in 1930, inspired by his travels to Bordeaux and the winemaking tradition spanning over 6,000 years in his country.
Today, the estate is managed by the third generation of the family.
The vineyards, certified organic, are located in the Bekaa Valley, north of Lake Qaroun and about 30 kilometers southeast of Beirut, at an altitude of over 1,000 meters above sea level.
Château Musar 2017 is their flagship red wine, crafted from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan. Each variety was fermented separately in cement tanks and aged for one year in French oak barrels.
The wines were then blended in early 2020 and bottled during the summer months. An excellent wine to enjoy now and over the next 3 to 4 decades.
